Supply Chain Coordinator

About the Role

As a Supply Chain Coordinator, you will be one of the driving forces behind the hardworking engine that keeps our Motium motor running smoothly, applying excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills, and working in an organised manner to support the end-to-end purchasing process and meet deadlines.

Our Supply Team is a talent team of 3 (4 when you get here) people who hunt worldwide for the best quality components that are used to manufacture our products.

Reporting to Vera, our brilliant Supply Chain Manager, you will be working hours that we are happy to plan around you (e.g., school hours are fine), whether they be full-time or part-time hours. Work from home can easily be organised; however, you will predominantly be based at our office in Bentley, as a collaborative teamwork approach is crucial to our Supply Team’s success.

The experience you bring to the role will be invaluable, but we don’t expect you to know everything! We will provide in-house and external training opportunities where required to ensure you are equipped to succeed with us, with the potential for you to be trained and grow into a leadership role in the future.

Your day-to-day will revolve around the following:

  • Participating in strategic purchasing activities including the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, promoting good purchasing practices, and ensuring sustainable and ethical purchasing practices
  • Supply planning for new and upcoming products in development by our Engineering Team
  • Developing and maintaining strong domestic and international supplier relationships
  • Overarching administrative tasks including preparing purchase order and work orders and maintaining item codes
  • Applying brilliant problem-solving skills to mitigate risks facing supply

About You

Here are some of the things we think will make you likely to succeed in this role:

  • Experience in a similar Strategic Purchasing role (even better if it’s related to purchasing direct materials, mechanical parts and tooled parts!)
  • A bachelor’s degree (or similar) in business, logistics or a related field
  • Proficiency in Chinese/Mandarin
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Experience with international shipping, particularly with Asian- and USA-based suppliers

We’d love to see that you have experience in an electronics, technology or manufacturing environment, but this is absolutely not a deal breaker. And we’re sorry, but you do need to have permanent rights to work in Australia.

We understand that not everyone is confident when applying for roles. If you are feeling unsure about any of the details, please don’t hesitate to email us at hr@motium.com, and we will be in touch with you as soon as we can.

Here are 4 reasons why we think you will love working with us:

  • Flexibility of your working hours: Tell us what working hours would best suit you, and we will work our hardest to accommodate what you need – whether that be full-time or part-time.
  • Receive recognition for your wins: Our favourite pastime is to celebrate the success of our employees and recognise their contribution to our company. We want you to take pride in your accomplishments, and if you’re doing a fabulous job, we want to make sure you know!
  • Chances for growth and progression: As Motium continues to grow in every facet, you will grow with us. There will be plenty of ways for you to achieve your career goals and targets, whether that be in this role or another department. Hear that? That’s the sound of opportunity calling your name.

Here are 3 reasons we are afraid you might not want to join us:

  • We operate in a high-feedback environment. You will be required to challenge, be challenged and face challenges. We recognise that this approach is not for everyone.
  • Motium is growing. Fast. As such, not all of our policies and procedures are shiny and well-polished. We are a work-in-progress and catching up as quick as we can. However, if you find it difficult to work without 100% of the processes outlined, this role might not be for you.
  • Due to current supply chain disruptions and the international nature of our suppliers, this role will involve a certain level of unpredictability. Facing an exciting but high-pressure environment, you will need to support the Supply Chain ship in both choppy waters and calm seas.
