Senior Manufacturing Test Systems Developer

About the Role 

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Test Systems Developer. You will be responsible for taking ownership of our test systems, driving innovation, and ensuring seamless operation. This role requires expertise across all aspects of testing systems for a manufacturing company with a mindset for efficiency and continuous improvement.

Our Quality Team are a self-motivated and efficient team of 4 who handle every challenge with a positive and proactive get-things-done attitude.

Reporting to our experienced Quality Manager with a dotted line to Engineering Management, this is a full-time role with flexible working hours based at our office in Bentley.

Your day-to-day will revolve around the following:

  • Act as the leader and sponsor of test system development and evolution within Motium
  • Define the functional design of testing system for use by our Manufacturing and Service departments
  • Design, develop, and maintain test systems to ensure Motium products meet functionality standards
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to develop and implement test plans for new products and components
  • Drive system optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Manage the project delivery and enhancement of test systems
  • Deliver projects efficiently and on time to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing and service operation
  • Develop and refine code of the testing systems
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between Product, Engineering, and Quality teams
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system hardware and software issues related to the test system ensuring minimal downtime
  • Train internal users and operators on the proper use and maintenance of test systems
  • Manage the day-to-day running and support of test system and related infrastructure
  • Perform proactive and routine maintenance actions of the test systems
  • Maintain and enhance systems related documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions

About You 

Here are some of the things we think will make you likely to succeed in this role:

  • A tertiary qualification in Software, Systems, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline
  • Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining test systems in manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in C# (C Sharp) and Python
  • Deep understanding of Linux, Windows, networking protocols (e.g., gRPC, SSH), and basic database concepts
  • Strong knowledge of BIOS navigation, networking, and debugging
  • Strong diagnostic abilities and logical troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
  • Solid ability to create documented processes
  • Ability to train and support internal users effectively
  • Experience in implementing new technologies and driving system improvements
  • Proven ability in leading project teams to successful delivery and engaging proactively with stakeholders
