Quality Inspector

About the Role

As a Quality Inspector, you will be ensuring that all our products are of the highest quality. You will be responsible for the incoming inspection of various items, in-process quality control, and outgoing inspection of our finished products.

Our Quality Team is a diverse team of 4 (5 when you get here!) and is full of individuals who are self-motivated and proactive about what they do and what they deliver. They do outstanding work to ensure that all materials meet our high standards.

Reporting to Pedros, our passionate QMS & Business Systems Manager, you will be working full-time hours that we are happy to plan with you. You will be based at our office in Bentley.

The experience that you bring to the role will be invaluable, but we don’t expect you to know everything! We provide in-house and external training opportunities where required to ensure you are equipped to succeed with us!

Your day-to-day will revolve around the following:

  • Maintaining and creating testing and quality control work instructions and procedures
  • Creating comprehensive documentation and non-conformance reports for quality issues and conducting corrective actions
  • Inspecting and approving incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and rejecting unacceptable materials
  • Documenting inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarising re-work and waste
  • Communicating quality-related issues to our Production Team and working with other departments to improve overall company product quality

About You

Here are some of the things we think will make you likely to succeed in this role:

  • An ability to solve problems and perform root cause analysis
  • Be proficient in computer work processing and Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience and understanding of ISO9001
  • Have relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment (even better if it’s in electronics manufacturing!)
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • We understand that not everyone is confident when applying for roles. If you are feeling unsure about any of the details, please don’t hesitate to email us at hr@motium.com, and we will be in touch with you as soon as we can.

Here are 4 reasons why we think you will love working with us:

  • Culture of friendliness and inclusivity: We truly care about our people and our work, embracing the diversity of our workforce and ensuring everyone has a sense of belonging.
  • Flexibility of your working hours: Tell us what working hours would best suit you, and we will work our hardest to accommodate what you need.
  • Receive recognition for your wins: Our favourite pastime is to celebrate the success of our employees and recognise their contribution to our company. We want you to take pride in your accomplishments, and if you’re doing a fabulous job, we want to make sure you know!
  • Chances for growth and progression: As Motium continues to grow in every facet, you will grow with us. There will be plenty of ways for you to achieve your career goals and targets, whether that be in this role or another department. Hear that? That’s the sound of opportunity calling your name.

Here are 3 reasons we are afraid you might not want to join us:

  • We operate in a high-feedback environment. You will be required to challenge, be challenged and face challenges. We recognise that this approach is not for everyone.
  • Motium is growing. Fast. As such, not all of our policies and procedures are shiny and well-polished. We are a work-in-progress and catching up as quick as we can. If you find it difficult to work without 100% of the processes outlined, this role might not be for you, as you may be tasked with assisting in the creation of this documentation.
  • We have thousands of incoming materials from our suppliers that are required to be inspected before they are used in our products. This work requires a very high level of attention to detail and an enjoyment of repetitive tasks — we know that this routine work is not loved by all.
